Former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker Lehlohonolo Majoro says he hopes the Buccaneers can successfully defend their Betway Premiership title this season. The former Bafana Bafana forward, who wore the colours of both Soweto giants during his career, believes the league has become more competitive, making another championship race difficult to predict.
Lehlohonolo Majoro reveals his hope for Orlando Pirates
Despite his links to both Chiefs and Pirates, Majoro admitted he would like to see Orlando Pirates remain champions.
Speaking to IOL, the former striker said he expects the league's traditional heavyweights to dominate the race again, but stopped short of making a firm prediction.

"I have no doubt that the Big Three will battle it out until the end. Hopefully, we will see Orlando Pirates defend their trophy again this season."
Former Chiefs and Pirates striker expects tighter PSL race
Majoro said last season's top-three finish of Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs was encouraging after years of Sundowns' dominance. He believes that picture reflects a league becoming increasingly competitive.
He pointed to clubs including AmaZulu, Sekhukhune United, Polokwane City and Stellenbosch as teams capable of upsetting the traditional favourites.
According to Majoro, there are no easy fixtures in the Betway Premiership anymore.
"There's no such thing as 'small teams' anymore. I believe each and every team that is prepared and willing to go the extra mile to get three points will get them."

Orlando Pirates face tougher title defence
While Majoro hopes Pirates retain their crown, he believes they will have to work much harder to stay on top as competition across the league continues to improve.
Majoro's opinion carries added significance because he experienced both sides of South Africa's biggest football rivalry, having played for both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
Although his loyalties have been divided during his career, he believes the Buccaneers have what it takes to defend their Betway Premiership title in what he expects to be a fiercely contested season.
