Veteran Mzansi actor Ben Kruger has passed away at the age of 64. The actor was popular in the country for his epic role on Binnelanders.

The star died on Wednesday morning, 26 May due to complications related to the coronavirus. He reportedly passed away at his home in Brooklyn, Pretoria.

Ben portrayed the character of Okkie Ferreira for nearly nine years, according to Elsje Stark. Elsje is one of the producers on Binnelanders. TshisaLIVE reports that kykNET publicist Suzaan Keyter confirmed Ben's passing to the publication.

Ben also appeared on TV shows such as Zero Tolerance and 7de Laan. His fans took to his Facebook page to send condolences to his family and friends. Check out some of their tributes below:

Generations: The Legacy actress actress Manaka Ranaka took to Instagram and shared that their lost their cousin, Kagiso Ranaka, on 19 May.

Kagiso died at the age of 37. He was born on 5 September, 1984, according to Manaka. The actress shared snaps of their cousin on her timeline. Dineo Ranaka's sister captioned her post:

"Oh, cuz but why??? I still can't believe you are gone! Robala ka kgotso ngwana ko gae."
