- Piers Morgan, a broadcaster and former friend of Meghan Markle's, has accused the royal couple of telling lies in his latest Twitter rant
- The TV host questioned the integrity of the Sussexes after it was revealed that they may have made a few untrue claims in their recent interview with Oprah Winfrey
- Twitter users from all over the world took to the comments section, sharing their mixed reactions to the shady tweet
Not shy about his dislike of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Piers Morgan has once again taken a dig at the royal couple, this time criticising their credibility in the latest tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Heading to his official Twitter account this week, Morgan cheekily asks:
"Was ANYTHING these two whiny clowns told @Oprah true? #AskingForAFriend"
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex get caught out in a lie
It seems the allegations were brought on after a source close to the Duke and Duchess revealed the couple had been financially supported by Prince Charles until the summer of 2020.
The information was confirmed by a spokesperson for Clarence House, ExpressUK reports.
In light of the new information, Prince Harry's earlier statements to Oprah Winfrey appear contradictory as he famously lamented to the talk show host for saying they had been 'cut off' financially in the first quarter of 2020.
According to the Daily Star, Morgan seems very pleased with himself as he did not believe the controversial royal couple anyway.
Piers Morgans 4,7 million fans have mixed reactions to the post
The broadcaster's millions of followers had very differing opinions on his little Twitter rant. While some agreed wholeheartedly with the statement, others accused Morgan of practising the same cyber-bullying he so often complains about.
Check out some of the comments below:
"Loving them right now, bringing down the monarchy all by themselves."
"Why are you so obsessed with them?"
"They have insulted Scotland by refusing the title Earl of Dumbarton for their son. Deep down they want him to be a prince so Earl is not good enough. I hope HM takes it off the table."
"Are jealous beyond comprehension. My advice to Meghan and Harry is for them to take you to the cleaners."
"You just cried right now about someone bullying you but here you're doing the same thing."
"I'm so disappointed in Prince Harry."
Meghan Markle called out for using royal title despite complaining about royal life
In more news on the royal couple, Briefly News previously reported that the Duchess of Sussex has been called out for her continual use of her royal title despite numerous complaints about her life as a member of the royal household. A New York journalist has condemned the actress for constantly speaking badly of royal life while at the same time reaping all its rewards.
It seems many former fans of Meghan and Prince Harry are newly questioning the former royals' motives as they continue to reap the financial rewards of speaking ill about palace life.
Journalists publicly criticise Markle and Prince Harry
According to a previous article by Express UK, journalist Maureen Callahan believes that the pair have wrongly used their royal titles and status to secure lucrative job offers and contracts.
"And for two people who can’t shut up about how much they hate royal life, how it nearly drove a pregnant Meghan to kill herself, how 'trapped' Harry felt by it all ’til Meghan came along — well, they sure don’t want to let go of those titles or connections or any halo effect being royal might grant them in the Hollywood/Silicon Valley circles to which they aspire," she wrote.
The reporter has also questioned the naming of their latest bundle of joy, wondering why they might have named their daughter after the Queen of a monarchy they claim to loath so very much.
In a previous article by The Independent UK, another prominent journalist is reported to have accused Harry and Meghan of “trading off” on their royal titles in order to secure deals with streaming services such as Netflix, Apple TV and Spotify.
