Proud wife: UCT Vice Chancellor's hubby graduates with his PhD degree
On Friday, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Town, Mamokgethi Phakeng, took to social media to gush about her husband, who graduated with his PhD from Stellenbosch University.

Last week Friday, Mamokgethi Phakeng was the picture of a proud wife as her husband, Madimetja Lucky Phakeng, accepted his PhD degree during the graduation ceremony of the Stellenbosch University.
Taking to her Twitter account, the UCT VC shared a photo of herself with her "tall glass of water" as she gushed about his graduation.
"My husband just graduated! Thank you @StellenboschUni #proudwife #blessed #grateful #senganga #tallglassofwater #upgrade," she captioned the post.

Phakeng shared another photo of the graduation ceremony where she announced her hubby would officially be joining the doctors' club.
"We are @StellenboschUni to witness Mr P transition to Dr P! #proudfamilymoments #wifeonduty #blessed #grateful," she wrote.
The couple have been married since 2012 and Briefly.co.za learned Mr Phakeng works as an advocate who heads the Takeover Regulation Panel.

It appears the Phakengs value education in their family. The stunning 52-year-old was appointed the UCT Vice Chancellor last year. She took office on 1 July last year.
Prior to her joining the Cape Town varsity, Phakeng acted as the Executive Dean of the College of Science, Engineering and Technology at the University of South Africa (UNISA), Wikipedia reports.
