1Magic’s The River has had to shut down production as a result of members of the team testing positive for Covid-19.

If anyone in a company tests positive for the virus, the entire team is forced to quarantine in order to stop further infection.

The River fans are not pleased about this as this may mean their show will be suspended if production cannot resume soon.

Taking the necessary precautions, The River team have all gone into self-isolation and are following other health protocols required to minimises the spread.

In a statement, Tshedza Pictures’ Phathu Makwarela made the announcement, stating that they are following all government directives to ensure the safety of their crew.

“Ever since we resumed production on 1 May 2020, all the necessary lockdown health guidelines were implemented on set. After we received the news of the colleague testing positive, we immediately asked the cast and crew that came in contact with the member to go into self isolation. They will soon avail themselves to health authorities for testing, in-line with government directives.”
