Zendaya bags Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in 'Euphoria'

Zendaya has bagged a prestigious Emmy Award. The actress became only the second black woman to win the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for her character as Rue Bennet in Euphoria.

The 24-year-old is also the youngest person to ever win the award. The other black actress who has won the award is Viola Davis. In her acceptance speech, Zendaya thanked the cast and crew of Euphoria. She also thanked the hit show's executive producer Sam Levinson for trusting her with Rue's role.

"This is so crazy. I don’t really cry," she said, according to Vulture.

Zendaya's name is currently trending on Twitter following her big win. Her fans and peers in the entertainment industry have taken to the micro-blogging app to congratulate her.

In other entertainment news, Briefly.co.za reported that that DJ Zinhle cannot wait to work with Matevhu. The singer was booted off Idols SA last Sunday and she could not make the Top 16 of the show.

When Matevhu auditioned at the singing competition, DJ Zinhle, who was a guest judge at the time, promised to collaborate with her in the future.

When she exited the show on Sunday, 13 September many fans reminded the Umlilo hitmaker of her promise to Matevhu. Matevhu recently took to Twitter to share that she'll be releasing a single titled Soulmate.

Zinhle took to her comment section on Wednesday, 16 September to congratulate the former Idols SA contestant on her new song. Zinhle, who is known for dropping bangers, added that she cannot wait to work with Matevhu on their project.
