2020 was a year of terrible loss, but there were some light moments amidst the darkness and one of those was all the celebrities who welcomed new babies into their families.

Giving birth is a major event at the best of times, but giving birth during a pandemic is a new level of hectic that 2020 introduced while the world battled Covid-19.

Mzansi celebrities were some of those who became parents and fans have loved seeing their faves adapt to the challenges of having a newborn around.

Briefly.co.za took a look at five celebrity babies that were welcomed in 2020.

5 Zenande Mfenyana's daughter

Zenande Mfenyana gave birth for the first time in 2020. She welcomed her little daughter and wrote in an Insta post that she'll always be there for her baby in "the journey of life."

4 Cici's son

Award-winning singer Cici also became a mamma for the first time in 2020 as she welcomed her baby, a little boy named Diallo.

3 Pearl Modiadie's son

The radio personality welcomed her first baby in September. Pearl announced a little while later that she had called her son Olivier Lewatle and was absolutely loving the challenges of motherhood.

2 Minnie Dlamini-Jones' son

Minnie's pregnancy made her a closely-watched celebrity mamma as fans could not wait until she announced the birth of her son. The star had a series of baby showers before she and hubby Quinton welcomed little Netha Makhosini to the world.

1 Cassper Nyovest's son

Mufasa and Thobeka Majozi announced the arrival of their son in August 2020. There's no question that Cassper is a proud dad and his fans are looking forward to cheering from the sidelines as little Khotso Izwe Simba grows up.

In other celebrity-related news, Briefly.co.za recently reported on Minnie Dlamini taking a positive out of Lockdown and sharing a make-up free selfie which she attributed to not drinking alcohol.

Minnie Dlamini-Jones decided to share some selfies with her followers and she kept it natural but was looking glowy and gorgeous. The celebrity took to social media to post a set of barefaced selfies which showed her make-up free face. Minnie was looking beautiful and her fans immediately took to the comments section to compliment her on how stunning she was looking.

Minnie joked about her selfies saying that, due to the newly-instated lockdown rules which prohibit drinking, she would not be suffering from "phuza face".

Lockdown Level 3 hit Mzansi just a few days ago and Minnie is making the best out of the situation by acknowledging that there will be no facial puffiness or swelling after a big night of drinking. Followers loved seeing the star comfortable and in her natural state, so they took to the comments section to compliment her on her appearance.
