The United States and its political landscape has been dominating the news after reports of violent riots erupting at Congress' Capitol Hill.

Discussions and opinions were formed and posted online and Mzansi's celebrities did not miss a beat when they decided to jump in on the action.

The violent siege of America's physical representation of democracy inspired many of South Africa's stars to show their reactions and post their opinions.

Some, like media personality Khanyi Mbau, shared how she was watching reports by international media and was glued to her screen to watch the madness unfold.

Others took the opportunity to point out the contrast in law enforcement's response to the rioters compared to the much-discussed police brutality against Black people.

Anele Mdoda and Tumi Molekane both pointed out how the scenes in Washington DC seemed so surreal that they seemed to be from a movie. Anele also pointed out how the invaders of Capitol Hill were white supremacists and not aliens.

One of the fitness practices that Connie has favoured in the past has been boxing and boxing-related exercise. The selfie she posted showed her wearing protective gloves with punching bags in the background so it's safe to say she continued with her preferred regime.

The picture had Connie, Ali and Lesedi all grinning and looking like they'd smashed their workout. They also tagged their trainer and gym but made special mention of the fact that they had ensured the first Monday of 2021 had been a productive one.
