On 8 January, 1912, the African National Congress (ANC) was officially formed. The ANC is now celebrating its 109th birthday but many South Africans have taken the opportunity to call the ruling party out.
As always, it's "Voetsek Friday" on Twitter and SAns have turned all their attention onto the ANC. #VoetsekANC has been at the top of the Twitter trend list since the early hours of Friday morning with many frustrated tweeps using the hashtag.
Number two on the trending list is "#ANC109" which includes a few congratulatory messages and a lot of frustration.
Briefly.co.za took to Twitter to compile a few of the top tweets under #VoetsekANC. Read some of them below:
"The R500 billion was looted through PPES, and people were told that they irresponsible while the funds which must take care of them were looted by the government of the ANC. #VoetsekANC."
"Isn't it interesting that all the so-called transformation measures that #VoetsekANC adopted since 1994, have only destroyed institutions, departments, SOEs, sports administration offices. And of course, they create overnight millionaires and billionaires."

Previously, Briefly.co.za reported that #VoetsekBhekiCele trended alongside #VoetsekANC. #VoetsekBhekiCele is trended alongside #VoetsekANC as South Africans expressed disdain for Cele who had taken to inspecting SA beaches in order to keep citizens from breaking the lockdown rules.
