- Media personality Andile Ncube seems to have addressed the speculation about his sexuality
- The sports presenter refuted the allegations by alluding that they were not factual
- Mzansi social media users had mixed reactions about the celebrity's response
Andile Ncube has been trending on social media after a tweep called him out for being a closeted gay.
The faceless social media user even suggested that Ncube’s sexuality was the reason his marriage to Ayanda Thabethe ended.
Andile seems to have addressed the drama. Taking to his Twitter account, the media personality posted:
“Facts are boring’ - @Lux_September”
This seemed to suggest that the allegations were in fact false but only used to stir drama.
Social media users had mixed reactions to his post. Twitter user ntlokom said:
“Especially on these streets!!! That man Lux was onto something. Siiiiiiiii..... Have a good morning mtshana”
“There not even juicy wena Andile... facts got no source shame!”
“Spill the coffee full of the truth then let's indulge”
“Fact still remains that you’re selective in your fake outrage. Queer lives are lost all time due to queerphobia, but you only find your voice when it’s time to vilify queers for fighting back. See the problem?”
Meanwhile Briefly.co.za previously reported that Ayanda Thabathe has come to the defense of her ex-husband Andile Ncube after he was accused of being secretly gay by a faceless social media user. Since then, Ncube has been trending online as Mzansi digested the drama.
The Twitter user with the handle @BadubeS claimed that the reason behind Ayanda and Andile's divorce was due to his sexuality. The social media user also blamed Andile for the publicising of Somizi and Mohale's alleged marriage scandals.
However, Ayanda Thabethe quickly shut down the rumours by taking to her Twitter account to set the record straight. She refuted the claims that she walked in on her ex husband with another man.
"At times the truth is neither sexy nor juicy which is why people refuse to hear it. I repeat, NO SUCH THING HAS EVER OCCURRED in my life as has been spoken about. This is not in defense or the protection of a particular person but to outlay the truth of my own story."
Social media users shared their thoughts on the matter. Twitter user SADEEY_V said:
"Haaaa I expected it... People from the community are bitter... They would form any type of story to boost their fading confidence & self esteem. Baya phapha mxm it's disgusting"
"You don't owe anyone any explanation Ayanda. We all had our problems and I will never try to explain my personal issues specially ko social media. Relax I'm behind you"
"Even if it had occurred, it’s none of anyone’s business."
