O'Neal recently put smiles on the faces of many people after paying for a random fan's engagement ring at a jewelry shop.

The former NBA star was shopping for some earrings at Zales in McDonough, an Atlanta suburb, when he came across an overwhelmed customer discussing the available financing options for an engagement ring.

Briefly News understands that Shaq immediately stepped in and offered to buy the ring for the man.

This was first made public by Shaq himself on Tuesday, April 6, during his NBA on TNT show in which he co-hosts.

“He was saying, ‘Hey, how much do I owe to pay off my ring?’ And I was like, ‘My man, how much is the ring?’” O’Neal said.

The fan at first did not want Shaq to buy him his engagement ring meant for his fiance but after a little more back and forth, the man agreed and Shaq handed over his credit card and the two posed for a photo to commemorate the moment.

Shaq did not reveal the amount he spent on the ring but confirmed that the same is what he has been doing for his fans over the years.

"This is something that I do every day. The other day, me and my mom went furniture shopping and this lady, she had an autistic daughter and she was also looking to pay for some furniture. I just took care of it. I'm into making people happy. Whenever I leave the house, I just try to do a good deed." Shaq added.
“I’m not going to say the amount, but this is something I do every day. I’m into making people happy, so whenever I leave the house, I just try to do a good deed.” Shaq stated.

Briefly News understands Shaq's philanthropy did not decrease anything from his vast wealth.

The Hall of Fame star reportedly earned more than R3.6 billion during his playing career, an amount which is exclusive of endorsements and other appearance fees.
