Man Braves Walk From JHB to Cape Town to Raise Cash to Build Pre School

- A good-natured man recently completed a very long walk in a bid to raise fees to build a pre-school in a village

Not many people are willing to be made uncomfortable for the sake of raising money or doing good in the name of helping other people. Onke Sitwayi, however, is one local who is willing to go great distances (literally) to help the less fortunate.

Onke, a very kind-hearted and determined young man, walked all the way from Johannesburg to Cape Town in a total of 27 days in order to raise money to build a pre-school in the Mthatha village where comes from.

"Welcome, Onke Sitwayi as he arrives in Cape Town having walked from JHB (took him 27 days). The courage, the bravery, and the drive are beyond measure. His goal was to collect enough funds to build a pre-school in his village in Mthatha. Well done!" reads a Briefly News Facebook post.

"Well done Onke, I don't know you but I'm proud of you. It's not every day where we see people walking for change or to build school. I hope sponsors and other stakeholders will come through mntasekhaya. Job well done."

As much as this may have seemed like a far stretch, peeps have managed to raise R34 000 for Mpho and his farm. Mpho shared a tweet on 7 February, heartbroken that he had lost such a large number of livestock.

On 9 February, Mpho confirmed that he is now R16k away from the R50k goal. Soon a hashtag was born to help Mpho raise money that went towards saving his business.
