Mampintsha’s mom Zama Zuma has extended an olive branch to her daughter-in-law Babes Wodumo, real name Bongekile Simelane after the two were embroiled in a nasty war of words.

In a candid interview with Briefly News, the 65-year-old woman said she lashed out at Babes Wodumo out of anger.

She accused her of turning Mampintsha against his family during the couple’s wedding at Ebandla Hotel in Ballito last week. She went on, saying Babe used every trick in the book to block them from attending the wedding.

But now, she wants to turn a new leaf with her Gqom musician daughter-in-law, who's from Lamontville, south of Durban.

“At the end of the day, she is my daughter-in-law, and we have to iron out issues and move past. Mandla is my son, and if he chooses Babes Wodumo, then there’s nothing I can do.”

She said she had asked for a meeting between Babes Wodumo, Mampintsha and herself.

“I want to apologise to her in person, and we move on as a family. I want to be a responsible mother to both of them.”

She couldn’t suppress her excitement during the interview and said she was happy that her son had finally tied the knot.

“I have longed to see him bring a makoti home. This is the best present for me. From now going forward, I want them to cement their love and build a warm home for my yet-to-be-born grandchildren.”

While the marriage elated her, there’s one last thing she wants from Mampintsha: Children.

“I want to play with my grandchildren before I die. This is the last thing I want from him, and I'll be a happy mom and grandmother.”

Both Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha’s phones went to voicemail so comment could not be gotten.

Meanwhile Briefly News had previously reported that a video of Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo’s mother has been circulating on social media.

In the footage, the woman holds nothing back as she tears into Mampintsha’s new wife, Bongekile ‘Babes Wodumo’ Simelane. The elderly woman accused Babes Wodumo of using her son and turning him against her.
