Though Eben's appearance in the soapie was short-lived, it made for a great twist on the usual storylines in local shows. It also begs the question of how much local athletes are being paid if Eben had to take on the Binnelanders role.

Woolworths slammed for requesting Ox Nche to reach out

In a recent report, Briefly News caught online reactions to Woolworths asking Springboks player Ox Nche to reach out to them for a year's supply of chocolate cake, which fans believed was disrespectful on the retailer's part.

Fans called Woolies out for making the rugby superstar go through all that trouble when they could easily reach out and make it happen.

This is not the first time Mzansi supported a Springboks player. Amid the current investigation of his alleged racist remarks, Bongi Mbonambi has the country behind him as many believe the allegations made by Tom Curry are false.
