Halala! Popular YouTuber Lasizwe and DStv have rekindled their partnership. This comes just over a month after DStv and Lasizwe parted ways amid his drama with fellow content creator Dominic Zaca.
Lasizwe’s YouTube series Awkward Dates was among the shows selected in a trailblazing partnership between DStv and content creators in April 2025. Months after signing the partnership, DStv and Lasizwe parted ways amid differing explanations from both camps.
Lasizwe and DStv resolved the issues that led to the severing of their partnership.
Lasizwe returns to DStv after leaving due to drama
Entertainment and current affairs blogger MDN News shared that Lasizwe is back on DStv. The blogger suggested that DStv’s parent company, MultiChoice, negotiated for Lasizwe to return.

The blogger suggested that a special episode of Awkward Dates would air on Mzansi Magic. They also hinted that more Awkward Dates episodes would be aired.
“Now, insiders say MultiChoice asked him to renegotiate, telling sources they were “extremely happy to work with him” but quietly disappointed when he abruptly yanked the show off the air. We are yet to see what happens from here,” part of the post was captioned.
Taking to his Instagram account on Tuesday, 26 August 2025, Lasizwe confirmed that he was returning to Mzansi Magic. He shared a celebratory post with the caption:
“Guess who's back on DStv? 😭? (Last Slide, is the mood!) An ‘Awkward Dates’ special edition on Mzansi Magic!”
He shared a video of himself and his sister, Khanyi Mbau, as well as two of their sisters dancing. The quartet recreated Mbau’s now-viral throwback video.

In the comments, Lasizwe revealed that the episode would air on Wednesday, 27 August 2025, at 21:30. He, however, kept the identity of the guest a secret.

L-Tido inks deal with DStv
Meanwhile, DStv welcomed another podcast to its lineup, as reported by Briefly News.
In July 2025, L-Tido announced that his podcast had signed a deal with the broadcaster, DStv. He shared the broadcast details in a video shared on his social media platforms.
