Social media supporters are sceptical about Bonang Matheba and Nomzamo Mbatha working together.

In 2024, they teamed up to host the Earthshot Prize Awards, which is where fans apparently noticed tension between them.

After the ladies were rumoured to be beefing, many now wonder if they simply put on an act for the cameras or if their chemistry was genuine.

popmzansi asked:

"Is it real or just for the cameras?"

Compaqllow said:

"Nomzamo and Bonang pretending to like each other is killing me."

Meanwhile, others criticised the ladies for working with McDonald's, which faced calls for boycotts in 2023 for its apparent support for Israel.

The company's Israeli franchise came under scrutiny for donating thousands of meals to the Israeli military amid the ongoing Palestinian genocide.

Despite McDonald's South Africa's attempt to distance itself from the donation, many believed that it was complicit in the genocidal war and thus faced mass boycotting.

Bonang and Nomzamo's campaign with the fast food chain led many to believe they only valued money as opposed to human life. This is what fans said:

PetiteEbonyGirl said:

"Both these people stand for nothing but the bag. You guys need to reconsider your parasocial relationships with celebrities, who would write your death for the right price."

bevditsie slammed Nomzamo Mbatha:

"We were violently attacked when we called out this 'activism' performance. We were told we are jealous, and that there's no one way to be an 'activist'. So here we are. A 'human rights activist', supporting a brand that feeds genocide. Can't make this up."

JoshuaDladla wrote:

"I don't care for Bonang; she is always desperate. Nomzamo is the biggest disappointment. You can tell she did the UN Ambassadorship as content creation. She believes in nothing but money. The fact that this came a day after the UN said Israel is committing genocide. Embarrassing."

ReignQueendom added:

"It's extremely disappointing to see Bonang and Nomzamo featured in a McDonald's ad."

black85607 was disappointed:

"Ah, the genocidal maniacs! Supporting the apartheid state of Israel. Expected it from Nomzamo, not Bonang!"

LeboSopazi responded:

"The money is long because why would anyone collaborate with their nemesis for a company that supports Israel? I’d expect this of Bonang, but I thought Nomzamo had more brain cells than that."
