The state has shared the outstanding issues that are preventing DJ Warras’ murder case from proceeding further.
DJ Warras’ life was cut short on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, after he was murdered in an apparent hit outside of a hijacked building in Johannesburg.
Two individuals, Armindo Joaquim Pacula and Victor Majola, were arrested and charged with the popular broadcaster’s murder.
DJ Warras' murder trial delayed again over incomplete investigations

The state said that financial information, facial comparison, call data, cellphone downloads, and drafting the indictment were still outstanding. As a result, the matter was postponed to 27 May 2026.
Armindo Joaquim Pacula, the alleged shooter and Victor Majola, the alleged mastermind, made their first appearance together in February following their arrest on separate occasions.
The matter was last postponed for further investigation, as the prosecution indicated that video footage and cellphone communication were still being analysed, as was the ballistics report.
Majola was earlier denied bail and is said to be the man who orchestrated Warras' murder.
Police claimed to have found details of Warras' car and those of his partner on Majola's phone and pictures of the deceased.
During Pacula's arrest, police are believed to have found chopped-off dreadlocks and the bag, which was allegedly used to conceal the gun on the day of the murder.
Pacula's lawyer previously told the court that his client intended to plead guilty, but requested to peruse the docket first.
How to grieve and heal after losing someone
Speaking to Briefly News, Paula Quinsee shared one way individuals can grieve and heal after losing someone.
Quinsee shared that healing takes time and advised individuals not to rush themselves or feel pressured to move on.
She suggested taking things day by day and dealing with emotions at their own pace.
"When you’re ready, you can start facing difficult tasks like going through their belongings step by step," Quinsee said.
SA fumes after DJ Warras' case is postponed again
After the matter was postponed to 27 May, netizens weighed in with mixed reactions. While some criticised the police for arresting the alleged hitmen without gathering enough evidence, others slammed the state for the continued postponements.
Here are some of the comments:
@BukamuT criticised:
“Seems like they have got absolutely nothing. How did these guys get arrested then? And since their arrest, what has the state been doing if all these things are still outstanding?”
@MrQuarantines asked:
“I wonder what the state is doing when the matter gets postponed, because you can get all that information in less than a month? 😳”
@Thabo_RSA questioned:
“Why arrest if the investigation is not complete? What if the pending evidence does not link the accused?”
@devikhumalo remarked:
“I hope the Ntanzi brigade now sees how important bank and call records are in a trial.”
