The long-running rivalry between Prince Kaybee and Cassper Nyovest has flared up again, this time sparked by a video of Cassper speaking about Elon Musk's ambitions for South Africa.
In June 2025, Musk's satellite internet company Starlink proposed providing free high-speed internet to 5,000 rural schools across South Africa, pledging an investment of around R500 million to connect roughly 2.4 million students.
A clip surfaced on X on 25 August 2026 showing Cassper holding court on what free internet access could mean for the continent's music industry. He focused specifically on the townships, arguing that if Musk followed through on his plans, it could fundamentally shift how artists distribute and monetise their music.
To illustrate his point, the Gusheshe hitmaker drew a parallel with Tanzanian music heavyweight Diamond Platnumz, who owns both Wasafi TV and Wasafi FM.

"That guy makes the music, puts it on his own channel and radio station; you can't do nothing," Cassper said, making the case that owning the platform is where the real power lies.
Previously, the late DJ Warras expressed his support for Musk's ambitions for South Africa, saying he could do much more for the schools.

Prince Kaybee mocks Cassper Nyovest
The person who originally posted the clip was far from impressed, however, and took a swing at Cassper's credibility while criticising his academic history.
"Cassper Nyovest says Elon Musk wants to give Africa free internet. This is exactly how people without matric sound."
Kaybee spotted the opening and jumped in. He did not hold back, dismissing Cassper outright and advising people not to take anything he says seriously.
"This idiot is no one to worry about at any point in any contentious dialogue! He exists to just have fun; he says this ALL THE TIME, believe him!"
The dig is just the latest chapter in what has become one of South African pop culture's most enduring public spats. Over the years, the two artists have traded jabs on social media over their respective musical credibility and have even exchanged words around celebrity boxing matches. Kaybee, in particular, has made a habit of targeting Cassper on X whenever the opportunity presents itself.
