Broadcaster Anele Mdoda has had enough. On Wednesday, 26 August 2026, she took to X to publicly call out the stream of unsolicited spiritual messages she receives from strangers claiming to have divine visions about her family.

"This is what I have to deal with weekly. I'm so tired of you people with your visions about a family you know f\*ck all about. You think you know us. You don't. You know OF us," she wrote.

To illustrate her frustration, Anele shared a screenshot of a message she had received, titled "A vision I had from God." The message, sent by someone named Busisiwe Tshetu, claimed that while exercising, the sender received a vision of Anele's son Alakhe being "very sick." The message went further, alleging that the broadcaster's stepmother was behind it, accusing her of plotting to destroy the Mdoda family's wealth and health, and suggesting she wanted to "sacrifice Anele's father."

The sender also claimed the rift between Anele and her sister Thembisa was engineered by the stepmother, concluding with a prayer rebuking the supposed threat "in the name of Jesus."

Anele made it clear she is done entertaining such messages.

"Week in, week out you charlatans want to send me messages from my mom, gran, God, my ancestors," she said, adding that the practice is "so dangerous."

Mzansi reacts after Anele Mdoda calls out prophesies

The post sparked a wave of responses, with many backing the radio personality's stance on spiritual boundaries.

@Zulu_Loveletter said:

"This actually upsets me so much coz it's unsolicited. Whether your spiritual gifts are real or not, you don't just approach a person like this. That's why people who want to know go and CONSULT. Mina, anyone close to me knows not to even tell me about a dream they had about me. Keep that to yourself. What are you supposed to do with this information? Be insecure and paranoid? Nxa"

@Luyanda_Maf wrote:

"Being gifted doesn't give you unlimited access to people. Not every dream, vision or message you receive is yours to deliver. Respect people, their boundaries and spiritual protocol. Discernment is also knowing when to remain silent."

@Penelope_Makala added:

"If we die, we die indeed. If God allows certain things to happen, then let them. Nobody can predict the future, guys and sending people such trying to scam them is really not on. Next thing they'll be asking for money."

@nyeleti_t offered a more nuanced view:

"Shame I'm not defending anyone, but I know this girl personally. Worked with her for months. This is definitely unsolicited and may have crossed a boundary. But she is sweet and honest."

@kaMalambule was blunt:

"Many people get these… don't give them attention nor an ounce of credibility by reposting. Next time, please block and report the profile."
