A scene from the South African television drama Izingane Zobaba has Mzansi talking after a tense clip from the show began circulating on X on 2 October 2026, with viewers convinced that character Mthombeni is deliberately working to discredit Makhumalo.

The footage, shared under the "143 Mzansi Magic" channel branding, shows an emotionally charged outdoor conversation filmed at a patio table surrounded by greenery. In the scene, a character reflects on finding themselves caught in the middle of a difficult situation, saying: "That was this, Lord. The most unfortunate part is that I called this lady. Maybe they would have had this conversation separately without me. A problem with that, but who can say that will support? Okay, okay, but it's not of my business; however, it's uncomfortable to hear my dad say that, not even as like my mom, like to another woman. That's crazy business."

Fans Turn on Mseleku

The clip picked up traction quickly, with many viewers reading the scene as Mthombeni's attempt to reframe Makhumalo as someone who does not want Makhwela, rather than holding himself accountable for the things he has said to her. The reaction from the *Izingane Zobaba* fanbase was largely protective of Makhumalo.
