DBN Gogo is setting her sights on the Grammys. The Amapiano DJ and producer, real name Mandisa Radebe, has kicked off an official "For Your Consideration" campaign, lobbying Recording Academy voters to recognise her work in the Best Remixed Recording category at the Grammy Awards.

The campaign, which she announced via her social media handle @DBNGOGO, is centred on the remix she produced alongside Ntwana_R for Monique Bingham and Black Coffee's beloved deep house track, "Deep in the Bottom (of Africa)." The official FYC artwork spells out the submission clearly, listing the Pop and Dance/Electronic category alongside the Best Remixed Recording category for the "Monique Bingham | Black Coffee, Deep in the Bottom (of Africa) [DBN Gogo & Ntwana_R Remix]" credit.

Her posts were simple but deliberate: "For Your Consideration" and a Grammy hashtag, letting the campaign banner do the heavy lifting. DBN Gogo's Grammy campaign represents another bold move by a South African artist working to bring the country's dance music culture to a global audience.

A Black Coffee classic gets the amapiano treatment

The original track holds a special place in African electronic music history. Black Coffee, himself a Grammy-winning DJ, co-created the anthem with soulful vocalist Monique Bingham, and it has remained a fixture in the South African house music canon. DBN Gogo and Ntwana_R's remix weaves Amapiano's signature grooves into the deep house foundations of the original, giving the classic a contemporary edge while preserving its soul.
