Mpumelelo "Sbindi" Mseleku, son of polygamist Musa Mseleku, has found himself at the centre of controversy after his candid interview on the Bhinca Nation podcast aired on Wednesday, 7 October 2026. In it, he made some eyebrow-raising claims about his co-parenting situation with former partner Vuyokazi Nciweni, with whom he shares two children.
Sbindi and Vuyokazi were together for over two years before quietly parting ways in mid-2024. Their split was reportedly driven by his polygamous ambitions, allegations of infidelity, and domestic disputes.

During the interview, Sbindi alleged that after their relationship ended, Vuyokazi cut off his access to the children entirely.
"When the children were taken, communication was closed," he said.

He also claimed she played no financial role in raising them, describing her response to his questions about money as nothing more than a thumbs-up emoji: "She doesn't put in money. It's me who asks, 'Now are you getting money?' But the person sends a thumbs-up emoji."
The Izingane Zesthembu star then revealed he eventually stopped sending money altogether, questioning whether what he was contributing even counted as maintenance.
"I sent money to a person who isn't here anymore. This person no longer exists in my life. I can no longer continue putting money in," he explained.
Sbindi, who is also a car salesman, added that after he withdrew financial support, Vuyokazi accused him publicly of not maintaining the children. He said his parents urged him to resume his responsibilities, but he responded cheekily, "They will never smell it," making it clear he would not resume payments. His reasoning? He no longer knows where his children are. "I don't know where they are anymore," he said.

Mzansi reacts to Sbindi Mseleku's co-parenting claims
Despite the former couple appearing to be on civil terms at their daughter's recent birthday celebration, social media users were far from impressed by his remarks. Many argued that courts exist precisely for situations like his, and that walking away from child support was not the answer.
The backlash comes after Mpumelelo posted screenshots of his video calls with his children with Vuyokazi. The mother of two went public with her frustration after the screenshots went viral, a move she says painted a misleading picture of his involvement in their lives.
She said the stinging detail was that his last call with the kids had actually taken place months before the post went up. Her remarks suggested the screenshots were shared for social media appearances rather than as a reflection of a consistent, present relationship with the kids.
Social media had this to say about the co-parenting dynamic:
Ntebo_Tsehla said:
"Go to court and get a custody agreement. Men act like courts are the plague. If anything, your continued child maintenance will help you in your argument to get custody. I hate how men will cry, 'She doesn't want to give me the kids,' but don't use the resources available."
kuhlobile_D wrote:
"Men will easily stop supporting their children and accept that they are no longer in communication with their kids instead of filing for shared custody."
Others brought up Sbindi's wife, Tirelo Kale, who had previously alleged he does not provide for his children.
Mahlogonolo_Se said:
"Tirelo has already told us that he doesn't provide. There is nothing he will say that will justify whatever it is he is trying to justify."
Thereal_Shazz asked:
"Why didn't he support Tirelo's child, 'cause they are still together?"
20072010MissB added:
"Mpumelelo doesn't provide, not even to Tirelo and Amahle's kids, so he must not come here and lie about Vuyo as if he was supporting the children when we know that he doesn't provide for any of his kids. Even MaYeni was complaining to Musa that Mpumelelo doesn't give her money for the children."
