A Zimbabwean man reportedly landed himself in police custody after staging his own press conference, taking inspiration from South Africa’s General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, and it lasted all of 12 hours.
The story went viral after Skynet MC Muringi, a Zimbabwean man living in Cape Town, posted a Facebook reel reacting to the incident with the caption: “Where is our brave man?”
In the video, Muringi explained that the man, identified online as Officer Mandizvidza, watched General Mkhwanazi’s widely shared press conference in South Africa and decided to try something similar back home in Zimbabwe. The man reportedly stood up and declared himself in charge of the police. Authorities were not amused. He was arrested and taken into custody shortly after.
