A Spring Day water splash went badly wrong after a scooter rider was drenched by a group of youngsters and crashed to the ground on 1 September 2026.
Facebook user Nathi De Shoden shared the moment, which showed kids throwing water at the rider as he passed by. The sudden soaking caused him to lose control of the scooter and fall off. He sustained minor injuries from the crash.
Every year on 1 September, South Africans, particularly the youth, mark the arrival of spring by splashing water on one another. It is a playful seasonal tradition that has grown in popularity over the years.
