A heartwarming moment from a traditional lobola ceremony has taken social media by storm, leaving many South Africans talking. The clip was posted on 24 August 2025 by TikTok user @faithbokabair, and in just two days it had already racked up over 23,000 likes and more than 300 comments.

The video captured the groom’s family arriving at the bride’s home to formally ask for her hand in marriage. As part of the negotiations, they highlighted how their sons are educated and working in different parts of the world. But what caught everyone’s attention was the special gesture they had planned for the bride.

In the middle of the discussions, the groom’s side of the family and varsity friends announced that they also wanted to bless the bride with a brand-new car. The lobola is of University of Limpopo students, and they have become a popular couple on social media.
