Four learners from Woodridge College in the Eastern Cape wowed online audiences after showing that they could easily move from school kids to beauty queens in just minutes.

One of the learners, TikTok user @imitha.g, shared the clip on the video streaming app on 22 March 2026, where it went viral, gaining hundreds of comments from impressed viewers.

The learners' video began with them standing behind each other and moving in front of the camera one by one, while in their school uniform. It then transitioned to the four of them in their stunning matric dance gowns, ready to party up a storm.

The matric dance dress transition

All four learners had their gowns designed to fit their perfect figures. The makeup and hair were also done professionally to give a Grammy Award red carpert look. In the comments section, the learner responded to someone who was asking who designed their dresses, saying she only knew of the two Crown Cafe and Amanda Knots.

SA loves the learners' dresses

The clip gained 735K views and over 300 comments from social media users who showered them with praise. Many viewers confessed that they were not expecting the transition to be that great for each, while complimenting them. Some said they nailed it, and jokingly called for South Africans to check the post for gala events' dress inspirations. One teacher said she would have screamed if she were their teacher, seeing them looking so pretty. One learner was shocked that the school had its matric dance already and noted that she wasn't even sure about the colour of the dress she wanted.
