A South African man living in the UK had a very public moment of sticker shock at the movies, and Mzansi could not stop laughing.
Jean-Pierre Pascal, one half of the content creator couple @jeanandpheebs, posted a clip from inside a UK ODEON cinema lobby during the release of a Spider-Man movie. The video's caption read:
"POV: Your South African husband moves to the UK."
In the clip, Jean-Pierre walks up to the concessions counter and is immediately caught off guard. He cannot believe he is paying £8.50 (around R186,30) for two tickets just to watch Spider-Man, and then gets hit with a second blow when he shares the flavours he was supposed to choose from: "Sweet or salty?"

No chutney. No salt and vinegar. No butter. Just two options. He holds up the bag of popcorn, shaking his head at the £7 (around R153,45) price tag, while his British wife Phoebe simply says,
"Sorry, babe."
His caption took a gentle dig at life back home:
"Maybe we do get princess treatment in South Africa."
