When asked whose idea it was to strictly enforce the Afrikaans rule for 30 Seconds, Christine shared:

"It actually happened completely by accident! When I originally bought the game, I didn’t realise that I had picked up the Afrikaans version. I only noticed afterwards, and instead of exchanging it, my friends and I thought, “Why not just play it in Afrikaans?” That’s essentially how the rule came about, and it ended up making the game a lot more entertaining than we expected."

"One of the funniest moments was when the word “skêr”, which means scissors in Afrikaans, came up. One of our friends confidently said “skizzors” instead, and that absolutely sent all of us! I think it perfectly captured the chaos of us trying our best to play the game entirely in Afrikaans while clearly struggling with some of the words."
