Siphelele "Popi" Sibiya, the Eastern Cape-born travel vlogger and creator of The Popi Show, gave her 335,000 Instagram followers a front-row seat to Swiss farm life in a reel that had Mzansi completely hooked.

The video, posted on @popi_sibiya's Instagram page, follows her through a full day on a Swiss dairy farm, presented as if she were the farmer's wife for the day. She woke up to an early morning milking session, swept out hay from the barn, cleaned cow stalls, and chatted with the farmer and his father, who she initially mistook for grumpy before realising he was simply a quiet man.

Swiss farm life, unfiltered

What made the reel so watchable was Popi's trademark humour. She narrated the day with cheeky on-screen captions, pointing out that the cows had already been milked before most people had even opened their eyes. She joked about the smelly business of cleaning the barn, then turned around and said she loved the money that farming brings in. By 7 am, her host had already peeled a full pot of potatoes, and breakfast was a spread of potatoes and cheese that Popi declared she absolutely loved.

The highlight of the day came when her "husband" requested apple pie for his birthday. With the apple trees looking bare, Popi climbed a ladder, hunted through the branches, and eventually collected a small haul of apples in her T-shirt, kangaroo-pouch style. Back in the kitchen, she got to work baking the pie from scratch.

All about Switzerland

Switzerland is home to roughly 47,000 small, family-run farms, with dairy and livestock farming dominating because the mountainous terrain limits large-scale crop production. Only about 2.2% of the Swiss workforce is employed in agriculture, making this kind of immersive farm experience a rare window into a quietly vital part of Swiss culture.
