KWAZULU-NATAL - The family of missing Durban woman Terricia Govender is continuing its desperate search, with plans to travel to Tibet after an unsuccessful trip to Nepal.
Govender, 33, is one of six South Africans reported missing in Nepal following devastating floods that affected parts of the country and neighbouring China last month.
Her family recently spent about a week in Nepal searching for her but returned to South Africa without finding her.
Family speaks on their continued search
It has now been 28 days since Govender’s mother, Linda Govender, last spoke to her daughter. Despite the uncertainty, Linda remains hopeful that Terricia is still alive.

“I am still hopeful, I am still praying for that miracle. All a mother can do is pray that she is still out there,” she said.
The week in Nepal was physically and emotionally draining for the family, but Linda said she was not prepared to stop looking for her daughter.
She is now hoping to continue the search in Tibet, China, where the family believes there could be information that may help them locate Terricia.
“At the end of the day, I don’t think about my feelings, I just think about that I need to go out there, I need to find Terricia, I need to get information,” Linda said.
The family is currently waiting for permission from Chinese authorities before travelling to Tibet.
For now, Linda continues to hold onto hope as the search for her daughter enters its fourth week.
