Collins Mbesuma turns 36: 6 facts about the striker on his birthday
Collins Mbesuma celebrates his 36th birthday on Monday and with this in mind, Briefly.co.za shares some fascinating facts about the former Kaizer Chiefs striker.

Briefly.co.za earlier reported on the goal-scoring exploits of Orlando Pirates striker Frank Mhango this season.
However, his current form pales in comparison to the record-breaking season provided by former Kaizer Chiefs star Collins Mbesuma.
Mbesuma broke records during the 2004/ 2005 season as he netted more than 25 goals for the Amakhosi.

Prior to joining Chiefs, Mbesuma rose from relative obscurity as he played for Zambian outfit Roan United.
Briefly.co.za learnt that it was his performances for the Zambian under-23 team that alerted the Chiefs scouts of his prodigious talent.
Following his record-breaking season for Chiefs, Mbesuma was primed for his big European move and Bolton Wanderers coach Sam Allardyce came calling.
Unfortunately, the move failed to materialise due to Bolton's financial woes, but Mbesuma still earned a move to England as he was signed by Portsmouth.

The powerful forward was then forced to contend with work permit issues and a loss of form.
His uninspiring form in Europe eventually ended at Bursaspor in Turkey and Mbesuma returned to Mzansi in 2008 when he signed for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Sadly, Mbesuma was never able to recapture the glorious form displayed at Chiefs and moved to various PSL clubs before signing for NFD side Maccabi FC.
While playing for Highlands Park in 2016, Mbesuma reached the 100 league goal mark - only the fifth player to do so in the PSL era.
