Ruben Amorim has spoken for the first time as Manchester United boss.
The former Sporting CP boss assumed his role on Monday after he was appointed to replace Erik ten Hag, who was dismissed on October 28.
The Portuguese coach is still waiting for his work visa before he takes his first training session, which is scheduled for next week.
Amorim was hired days after Erik ten Hag's departure and will be tasked with rescuing the 2024/25 season, which started poorly. Interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy coached the last four games, winning three and drawing once.

Amorim's first words as Man United boss
As he awaits his work visa, Amorim has been taking tours inside Old Trafford to learn the club's history and conduct meetings.
In a snippet of an interview set to be released later, Amorim shared his thoughts on his new job.
“You watch on TV and you know that it’s big and it’s impressive, but when you are here you can feel it and I think you feel the history,” he said via Manchester Evening News.
“I’m really, really proud to be a Manchester United coach, so it’s amazing. It’s a real honour to be here...I’m really excited and I’m quite relaxed you know. I think I am where I am supposed to be. That’s the feeling.”
Amorim will be in the dugout for the first time on November 24 when Man United face Ipswich. They are 13th in the Premier League, four points off the top four.
Amorim meets Man United players
Briefly News also reported that Amorim warmly embraced Man United players in his first meeting at the Carrington training complex.
Amorim met Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount, and Leny Yoro, players who are recovering from injury.
Most Manchester United players are on international duty and on holiday; therefore, he will meet the rest next week.
