TS Galaxy meme sparks match-fixing claims
The deleted cartoon showed a grey-shirted woman shouting, “Stop! You forgot these!” at a caricatured TS Galaxy player, who is wearing a hat similar to the one worn by Tim Sukazi, the chairperson and founder of TS Galaxy F.C.
The accompanying joke referred to needing points and taking an “arm”. Some supporters interpreted the imagery as a reference to an alleged payment involving Pirates.
However, the post itself does not establish that match-fixing took place. The screenshots quickly spread across social media, with supporters debating what Galaxy's post was supposed to mean.
Some fans focused on the fact that the post had been quickly deleted.
“It seems like someone deleted your tweet by mistake, but I got you ❤️,” @Pedi_hun wrote after the post was removed.
@Ta_Fitty also joked about the sudden deletion, asking:
“TS Galaxy admin got a call neh? 😂😂😂”

Others took a far more serious view. @sabelostormz alleged:
“TS Galaxy is confirming that they took brown envelope against Orlando Pirates last season, shocking.”
@Luthango1 summed up the reaction to the deletion by writing:
“They deleted, but the damage is already done.”
Fans divided over TS Galaxy's deleted post
The controversy quickly moved beyond jokes, with some supporters arguing that the cartoon amounted to an admission.
“We said it, here is the evidence. Right from the horse's mouth,” @SirKololo posted.
@AlphaMhaule80 similarly claimed:
“This is an admission of guilt to match-fixing; hence they deleted the post.”
Another supporter, @Dlepu_Ntutuzelo, joined the discussion with a sarcastic take:
“So they took a bribe to beat that yellow nation? What a great thing”
But there was also a strong pushback from fans who believed supporters were taking a joke too seriously.
“You know this is only banter or you're delusional,” @Mbuzobee wrote.
@Malatjie_ offered an even simpler interpretation:
“It’s just jokes, member, take it easy”
@MbusowMasango also defended the post as part of the build-up to the weekend's football, saying:
“Let the fans banter; it's a harmless hype builder towards the game day.”
The contrasting reactions underline how differently people have interpreted the deleted post, particularly as Pirates prepare for one of the biggest matches on their calendar.
Pirates and Sundowns prepare for MTN8 final
The controversy comes ahead of the MTN8 final between Pirates and Sundowns at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 10 October.
Pirates are chasing a fifth consecutive MTN8 title, heightening interest in the fixture.
For now, the deleted TS Galaxy meme remains the subject of speculation among supporters. Neither the cartoon nor its deletion, on its own, provides evidence that a match was fixed.
The allegations circulating online therefore remain fan claims and allegations rather than established facts.
