Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth has assembled a garage of large, high-performance vehicles that mirrors his commanding presence on the rugby field, with his collection ranging from a Volkswagen bakkie to a R4.5 million Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.
**Etzebeth's Mercedes-Benz Partnership**
The Mercedes chapter of Etzebeth's motoring life began in 2023, when he and his wife Anlia were welcomed into Mercedes-Benz South Africa's Friends of the Brand programme. Through the arrangement, Etzebeth drove a GLE 400 d for 12 months while Anlia was placed in a GLC 300 d.
The relationship with the German manufacturer deepened in April 2024, when he was photographed collecting a black Mercedes AMG GLS 63. The seven-seat SUV, which blends family-sized capacity with AMG performance, carries a reported price tag of around R4 million.

In 2026, Etzebeth added what may be the most attention-grabbing vehicle in his collection: a blue 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. The V8 Biturbo SUV is reported to be worth approximately R4.5 million. Crediting his Mercedes-Benz sponsorship, Etzebeth thanked the manufacturer for putting him in what he described as the "Top Dog."

**Bakkies, Defenders and American Muscle**
Before his Mercedes partnership took shape, Etzebeth had already demonstrated a preference for capable, purposeful vehicles. In 2022, he revealed a Volkswagen Amarok 3.0 V6 TDI 4Motion Double Cab, a bakkie producing 190kW and 580Nm of torque. Over the years, he has also been photographed alongside Range Rovers and Land Rover Defenders.
His most unexpected motoring moment came in 2021, when he appeared between a Dodge Challenger SRT and a Ford Mustang S550. Whether either of those American muscle cars was personally owned by Etzebeth has never been confirmed.
Taken together, the vehicles publicly linked to the Springbok forward reflect a clear pattern: large engines, imposing proportions and an appetite for machines that command attention.
