Ronaldo Has Now Broken 20 Records in His Career After Recent International Goals Feat

Cristiano Ronaldo's appetite for breaking records is growing as he continues to feature for club and country at the highest level of the game.

The Portugal captain is now the leading goalscorer at international level with 11 strikes, surpassing Iran's Ali Daei who has 109.

International level

To start with, the 36-year-old is the most capped Portuguese player with 180 and is the only player that has scored against most international teams (45).

He also holds the most records for international hat-tricks (9) and set the record for the most European Championship appearances (5).

Champions League

Ronaldo is one game away from breaking Ilkay Casillas Champions lLeague appearances (177) when he begins life at Man United.

CR7 is the highest goalscorer in the elite competition with 134 goals and a record of 42 assists playing for United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

The Portuguese also has most goals in the knockout stages with 67 and scored the most in the 2013-14 season for Los Blancos (17).

The forward has the most final wins since the competition was rebranded from the Champions Cup to the Champions League in 1992.

Golden boy status

It is understood that Ronaldo have scored the most competitive goals in the history of the game with 800 career strikes.

This remarkable feat makes him the only player in history to score 50 or more goals in the English, Spainish and Italian leagues respectively and won titles in each country.

Off the pitch achievemnets

Ronaldo extended his fame to the 2021 Guinness World Book of Records as the most liked person on Facebook with 124,726,150 likes.

He is the most followed person on Instagram, which skyrocketed to more than 336,000,000 million accounts since his summer from Juventus to Old Trafford.

The ex-Sporting Lisbon star is the most liked sportsman on Twitter with 94m followers, just behind ex-US president Barack Obama.

Ronaldo scoring record long in wait

In related news, Briefly News recently reported that Ronaldo's record-breaking feat has been long coming until the Portuguese captain achieved it by scoring two late goals against the Republic of Ireland, Man United.

The 36-year-old has now scored 111 international goals, the most by any player in history after breaking Iran's Ali Daei's long-standing record since 2006.

However, Ronaldo has insisted that he is not resting on his oars after the achievement and said that he would continue to raise the bar.
