In 2012, Karin Swanepoel and her family were on their way to her sister in Bloemfontein when they were involved in a serious car accident.

Karin's husband, Schalk(39), and her daughter, Jeanelle(5), were killed instantly. Little Juan(2), died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Karin was taken to hospital with serious injuries and was kept under medication. She only found out that she was the only survivor of the car accident ten days later. She was kept in the hospital for three weeks, after which a memorial was held for her late husband and children.

The heartbroken woman moved to Mosselbay after she left the hospital, according to Maroela Media.

You can keep staring at your loss, but then you'll never be able to move on.

She met André in a coffee shop in 2014. She feels it was a case of being in the right place at the right time. They started seeing each other after their chance meeting and a relationship blossomed.

André is divorced and has a son from his previous marriage.

In February of this year, Karin found out that she's pregnant with twins. On the 16th of May, they found out she was expecting a boy and a girl. They were ecstatic.

It was our heart's desire, an unbelievable double blessing.

The happy parents-to-be have already decided on names: Reynard and Desiré. Reynard means "wise protector" and Desiré means "desired one".
