Sjava and music producer Ruff have launched their own record label called 1020 Cartel. The label is expected to release its first project by Sjava next month.

The award-winning musician took to social media to make the announcement,

In a short statement, the muso said:

"Ruff and I are really excited about launching this label because at the core, we’re activating a movement which promotes excellence in arts, collaboration and creating value for everyone involved. I have so much on the four artists we currently working with. They are so talented and have so much to offer.”

Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za previously reported Sjava announced that he and Ambitiouz Entertainment have parted ways. The singer made the announcement on his social media accounts.

The star said he prefers to keep the reason for walking away private, for now. He also asked that people don't swear at the label or spread rumours about it.

Sjava said he is grateful to Ambitiouz for giving him a chance when no one else was willing to. He also thanked all his former label mates for making incredible music with him.
