Shane Eagle has responded to his critics who have accused him of trying so hard to sound like US rapper J Cole. Shane is one of the most talented rappers in Mzansi but some of his naysayers claim that he sounds too American.

The Let It Flow hitmaker has shared that he doesn't see being compared to J Cole as criticism. The talented rapper expressed that it doesn't bother him to be associated with "greatness" because his art is true to him.

The star shared that he is happy as long as his fans understand the message in his music.

"I also think the sound in my music creates a bridge between opposing worlds and suggests that we can all connect through art and music regardless of where you were born. Maybe it’s all connected in the end and I happen to be the link," he told Zkhiphani.

The artist also shared that he has learnt in his time making music never to take critics or opinions personally "because my art is subjective to me".

According to SAHipHopMag, Shane confirmed during the interview with Zkhiphani that he is featured on J Cole's upcoming album but refused to share more details. The star recently dropped a great project titled Xenergy on Apple Music.
