'Dumped over petty things' trends as SA shares craziest breakup secrets

- #DumpedOverPettyThings recently started trending on Twitter with thousands using the hashtag

- Many locals explained the petty reasons they either got dumped or dumped someone on the blogging app

- While many of the reasons was pretty sad, others were very petty and even hilarious

Break-ups are heartbreaking and not always easy to talk about. South African Twitter users however seemed to have no difficulties spilling the tea after the hashtag #DumpedOverPettyThings started trending on Twitter.

Staying true to the theme, locals flooded the timeline with the pettiest reasons why they either dumped or got dumped by someone. While many of the Twitter posts were actually quite sad, a lot of them had tweeps laughing out loud.

Wearing cheap make-up, refusing to give loans, buying the wrong fruit and having bad breath were only a few of the reasons a few relationships were kicked to the curb. Read a few of the entertaining tweets below.

In more light-hearted Briefly.co.za news, a young lady has shown the world that surprise is one of the things that spice up relationships as it gives the recipient the feeling of being loved and appreciated. A Twitter user with the handle @TheJamelShow was recently surprised by his lover who gave him 30 gifts for his 30th birthday, which is a month away.

The young lady captured the moment @TheJamelShow walked into the living room to the sight of the many gifts arranged in a corner. In the video, there is a board hung on the wall surrounded by different gifts wrapped in boxes.

Thirty cups were attached to the board. According to the lady, each cup will have to be taken down daily for one gift to be unwrapped, and @TheJamelShow will have to do this for 30 days. The birthday boy took to his Twitter page to share the video, which he captioned:

"The big surprise."
