Cassper Nyovest is set to perform in Malawi next month and took to social media to let his fans know how special and important this performance is to him. Malawi is actually where Mufasa’s roots grew from.
While Cassper is extremely proud of his Mzansi, Mahikeng roots, that is not where his ancestors are from. Taking to social media Cassper revealed that his grandfather was originally from Malawi.
Cassper told the story of how his grandfather walked from Malawi to South Africa and that is how his Mzansi roots came to be. Performing in a country where his roots stem from is something Cass feels honoured to have the opportunity of doing.
“Performing in Malawi in December. Always special for me cause that's where my family tree starts. My grandfather walked from Malawi with a group of friends and settled in Potchefstroom. Started a business from nothing and that's where I get my entrepreneurial skills from.”
Cassper is a sentimental man who values things like this greatly. This is just one of the very many reasons so many people love and respect Cassper. Malawi is in for a performance of a lifetime, that is for sure.
Briefly.co.za previously reported that Cassper Nyovest felt a little touched when he saw clips from his #FillUpRoyalBafokeng concert that took place last year. With this pandemic, Cass had to cancel his plans to play in his hometown in 2020.
Reigning from Mahikeng, Cassper feels a strong sense of pride for his hometown. #FillUpRoyalBafokeng was one of the most iconic concerts for Cassper, a moment he will never forget.
Seeing the memory come up on social media, Cassper shared it along with his feels over not having been able to do it again this year. Cassper has never and never will forget where he came from.
