Desmond Dube has opened up about being homeless in Johannesburg back in the days when he was still a teenager. The veteran TV personality took to Instagram recently and shared that he arrived in Jozi from Kimberly when he was only 17 years old.

Desmond shared that he was chasing his dream of becoming an artist when he decided to relocate to Joburg but ended up living on the streets. The star, who has appeared on a lot of Mzansi TV shows and adverts, shared a black and white snap of himself when he was still young. He captioned his post:

"I left Kimberley at the age of 17 and ended up living on the streets of Jozi. I didn’t know it at the time that the dream of being an artist was not only an emotional escape but it kept me alive. The streets were dark but I dreamt in colour."

Desmond told his fans that he will share more about his journey as time goes. He added:

"Keep the faith majimbos. Tough times never last."
