A young South African man with the Twitter handle, @PapiZwane recently took to Twitter to complain about how the radio industry is being filled with social media personalities as opposed to professionals who actually studied and trained for the trade.

According to his post, the industry is going down because current influencers turned radio presenters have lost the plot when it comes to engaging and enticing audiences resorting to the usage of competitions and public confessions in order to keep listeners interested in their shows.

Influencer complains about losing likes and retweets, demands answers

"The SA radio industry seriously needs to realize that influencers aren’t suddenly broadcasters just coz you gave them a show. The bar is in hell!
"Let’s be real for a minute. How many current radio DJs keep you glued to your radio without having to resort to competitions, dedications, and anonymous stories (so that the entire country can laugh at your problems)?," he wrote.

Soon many people were agreeing with his sentiments in the comment section. Even DJ Fresh had something to say. Read their tweets below.

@DJFreshSA said:

"I have lamented this for almost 10 years now. The Bar’s BEEN decimated."

"Twitter topics recycled - would you go through partner’s phone, it’s like watching SABC Encore v2.0 from 2 years ago. I listen to Talk Radio cos at least news happens on the regular n at least it’s fresh content daily. This topic is too close to my heart n it hurts."

In other Briefly.co.za news, being an influencer is all about the numbers. This is why it comes as no surprise that a young South African influencer is questioning the fact that she slowly but surely seems to be losing numbers on one of her most popular tweets.

Keabetswe aka @akreana_ on Twitter recently shared a tweet about how her pinned tweet, which has over 111k retweets, has been losing both likes and retweets. This is something that she is not too happy about since influencers make bank depending on how many people they were able to influence, basically.

"Really wish I knew why Twitter keeps removing the likes and RTs on my pinned tweet," she wrote.
