A would-be victim of a hijacking quickly defended himself against a gang of five hijackers who wanted to take his grey Porsche Cayenne by shooting one of them dead
According to reports, the assailants and the victim were driving in a red double cab Toyota bakkie and a white Audi on Old Johannesburg Road near the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria when the incident occurred.
According to the victim, the hijackers had tried to block his expensive car with their bakkie. They then jumped out of their vehicle and approached the driver. In an attempt to spare both his life and his car, the victim allegedly shot one of the suspects causing the rest to flee.
Timeslive reports that the suspect's firearm and ammunition were found at the scene. Police spokesperson, Augustinah Selepe said that the police are currently investigating a case of murder, and attempted hijacking has been opened.
Meanwhile, locals had this to say about the hijacking:
@_snempilo said:
"I don't understand why it's still this difficult to obtain a firearm license in this brutal country. We all need guns seriously."
@JustSaying11122 said:
"Well Done! We happy if the right person is killed; not the victim. Bravo!"
@Moshibu61297808 said:
"I wish him well too. May he succeed in putting down more criminals like he did today. May he take up any available pistol usage courses to aim better and kill not only one but many criminals in the near future. We praise him for the job well done."

The car was stolen, the details are not clear, but what we do know is that the tracker company could not recover the car. On a positive note, she had insurance but she is still upset at the loss.
"After multiple failed hijackings, our luck finally ran out. I’m going to miss you Jon Snow, what feels like a bad dream that just won’t end is a reality! I hope they crash you and burn, she captioned the post.
