- Social media users have shared mixed responses to the veteran radio personality's tweet
DJ Fresh has taken to social media to comment on the allegations of rape levelled against him and his friend Euphonik.
The veteran radio presenter took to Twitter on Monday, 18 January and shared that he doesn't know the woman who has accused him of drugging raping her back in 2011.
"This is all so weird, having to explain myself about a person I don’t even know!!!"
The musician has been trending on social media for the past few days after the woman, @Nampree on Twitter, accused him of sexually assaulting her and three other women. DJ Fresh and Euphonik have also been taken off air following the news that charges of sexual assault had been laid against them.
Tweeps have shared mixed reactions to Fresh's tweet about the allegations against him. Check out some of the comments below:
"All this is unfair on you guys. Stay strong bro."
"So this girl said she doesn’t know who raped her,she doesn’t remember anything like she doesn’t know what happened so how is she opening a case over something she doesn’t know? Or am I missing something here cos clearly this puzzle isn’t complete."
"You're a celebrity, you can't tell us you remember all fans."
"If you did it uyinja (you're a dog), you deserve to rot in jail. If you didn't do it I'm really sorry and everything is going to be okay. Keep your head up and pray."
"You cannot remember everyone you have met, especially 10 years ago. I also do not remember all people I have chowed 10 years ago. So rest, rest and allow the law to take its course."
"Or it is not rape if you do not know the woman? Not sure I understand the logic between knowing someone and them saying you raped them. It has never come across my 30 years activism and subject matter expertise that you must know a woman for it to be considered rape."
In related news, Briefly.co.za reported that Gauteng police have confirmed that official charges have been laid against Euphonik and DJ Fresh for allegedly drugging and raping a young woman back in 2011. Earlier last week, a woman took to Twitter claiming that the two DJs took advantage of her while she was drunk.
She claimed that they had drugged her and raped her. Police authorities have confirmed to TshisaLive that formal cases of rape have been lodged against the two of them.
The woman requested that her identity remains hidden and revealed that the ordeal happened while she was at a party in 2011. At the time, she was a student at the University of Pretoria.
