Ntsiki Mazwai has reacted to the news of DJ Fresh and Euphonik getting fired by Primedia Broadcasting after they trended recently for allegations of sexual assault.
Ntsiki slammed Mzansi DJs who have not said a word on social media since the two veteran DJs got frired from 947. The opinionated singer wrote:
"So basically all SA DJs are rapists... That's what the silence is telling us."
A young woman recently came out and alleged that the DJ duo allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted her when she was still a student a few years back.
Ntsiki accused Euphonik of starting a trend of "bullying" her because she once stood up for a girl he allegedly hit. Ntsiki also shaded Euphonik for allegedly physically abusing Bonang Matheba when they were dating some years ago.
"Kanene Euphonik popularized and normalised calling me dirty… Kanene we remember Bonang. Kanene."
Ntsiki warned Mzansi men, especially celebrities:
"You don't lose your livelihood because of Twitter.... You lose it because of your behaviour."
Social media users have shared mixed opinions to Ntsiki's reaction to Fresh and Euphonik's story.
"Maybe the silence means they'll not jump into conclusions without knowing all the facts. Which is something we should really all do. We should all believe victims, but we should also all just know the facts before we draw conclusions about anything."
"I used to work in clubs and outdoor events. The things I use to witness being done by promoters, DJs and so called blessers is sickening. Their silence in this is the loudest and it shouldn't be taken lightly."
In related news, Briefly.co.za reported that Primedia Broadcasting has parted ways with DJ Fresh and Euphonik, the media company confirmed in a statement on Wednesday night, 10 February.
DJ Fresh and Euphonik trended on social media a few weeks back after a woman accused them of drugging her and sexually assaulting her while she was still a student some years back.
Both the musician's names trended on Twitter since the news broke that Primedia has decided to release the two stars from their contracts. In the statement, Primedia Broadcasting said:
"After careful consideration of the events of the last few weeks, the company has decided to release DJ Fresh and Euphonik from their contracts."
Both the radio hosts did their last shows on 947 in January after they trended for the allegations of sexual assault. Tweeps shared mixed thoughts on the companies decision to release the two media personalities while their case has not gone to court.
