- The man won the whopping amount of money after he purchased a ticket at a Polokwane supermarket
A local man became an instant multi-millionaire after he won over R51 million from Lotto's Powerball draw on the second of March this year. According to reports, the lucky man purchased the ticket at a Polokwane supermarket using only R30.
Speaking in a recent interview, the lucky guy and now millionaire says that he will be using his money to pursue his dream of working as a social worker. The man also said that he would be using the cash to build a big and beautiful home for his family.
His other plans include investing a bulk of his money which will be a smart way to stop him from blowing all his cash recklessly like many other instant millionaires have done a number of times in the past, a HeraldLive article reports.
Meanwhile, locals have had this to say about the fact that there is a new winner:
"While some of us will get..... • FNB:-) Congratulations, you won R5.00 in the POWERBALL draw. Your winnings will be deposited within the next 2 working days. FNB, a Div. of FRB Ltd."
"Ke sure the winner is using FNB or it is a quick pick from a garage."
Briefly.co.za previously reported that a lucky Durban resident recently scored big time after winning a whopping R28 million in a South African Lotto jackpot. Earlier this year, the woman also purchased a winning ticket that saw her walking away with R129k.
Speaking in a recent interview, the woman describes how she had bought the quick-pick ticket using her change from grocery shopping at Nadasens Spar Savemor last week Wednesday - something she says she doesn't do very often.
After discovering that she had purchased the winning ticket, she went back to the store and was told to go to the iThuba offices, where she was absolutely shocked to discover that she had won the jackpot.
