Late actor Chadwick Boseman has won an award for outstanding performance by a leading man for his role in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.
The actor, who lost his battle with colon cancer back in August 2020, played his last role in the film, which is currently available on Netflix.
Boseman's widow, Taylor Simone, accepted his Screen Actor's Guild (SAG) Award on his behalf on Sunday, March 4 and gave a moving speech, according to CNN.
She also gave a quote from the late actor while thanking the award show for honouring her late love.
"' If you see the world unbalanced, be a crusader that pushes heavily on the seesaw of the mind.' That's a quote from Chadwick Boseman. Thank you, Screen Actors. Thank you, Chad," she said.
Boseman's co-star in the film, Viola Davis, also scooped an award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role at the same event.
A few months back, Netflix released footage of Boseman's last role in the Ma Rainey's Black Bottom film. The film is based on an old Broadway Play created by August Wilson back in 1982.
Briefly.co.za also reported that the hardest part about death is having to continue mourning as the world continues living. Even in his death, fallen Hollywood star Chadwick Boseman continues to reign supreme.
The late actor won the Golden Globe award in the Best Actor (Drama) category. He was hailed for his role in Netflix film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, which was aired following his demise. His wife Taylor Simone Ledward received his trophy on Chadwick’s behalf and broke into tears as she delivered a powerful speech.
At first, the strong-willed widow tried to power through the moment without shedding any tear or speaking with a shaky voice.
