Security is on high alert after the late Queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu's lawyer read out her will. The late queen had named her eldest son Prince Misuzulu Zulu as the successor to the late King Goodwill Zwelithini.
Shortly after the announcement, the prince was whisked away by security in a convoy and it was reported that requests were made for more security.
eNCA reported that the royal family did not believe that the current security in place at the time was sufficient. The announcement even made international news with The Guardian reporting that Prince Misuzulu had been named the successor.
The Zulu royal family had been plunged into chaos after King Goodwill Zwelithini and Queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu died. A bitter succession battle ensued.

Earlier, Briefly News reported that AmaZulu Queen Regent Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu had named Prince Misuzulu Zulu as the new king of the Zulu people.
Her will was read out by her lawyer in which she picked her eldest son to succeed her as the new King of the Zulu.
It is not clear if the announcement will be formally challenged or if Prince Misuzulu Zulu will be crowned the new king without any issues.

In other news, in the wake of the death of King Goodwill Zwelithini, the Zulu royal household has been plunged into chaos.
A fierce battle is being waged over who will succeed the late king. The fight to decide who takes the throne has gone to the Pietermaritzburg High Court.
MaDlamini, Zwelithini's first wife, is challenging the will which dictates who will take the throne. Initial rumours had hinted at the escalation in the battle of succession. These have now been confirmed.
