Bathong, Ntsiki Mazwai, seems not to have learned from the lawsuit she received from DJ Euphonik regarding the defamatory statement she made about him in 2021, as she recently made damning claims about DJ Shimza.

On Wednesday, 3 September 2025, the controversial activist, who asked for donations again to celebrate her birthday, accused the 36-year-old music producer and DJ of paying for slots to perform internationally.

This came after it was announced that DJ Shimza was nominated for the DJ Awards, which are annual electronic music awards held in Ibiza, often referred to as the "Oscars of dance music," recognising and celebrating DJs and individuals who have significantly influenced the global electronic music scene. The awards, which started in 1998, feature a dynamic mix of categories that evolve with changing trends and include specific awards for artists, clubs, festivals, and industry professionals.

Netizens slam Ntsiki for making claims about DJ Shimza

Shortly after Ntsiki Mazwai made those damning claims about DJ Shimza on social media, many netizens slammed the activist for making such allegations against the star. Here's what they had to say below:

@Nhlamulo_Pardon said:

"He has been playing internationally for a while. Are you telling us that all the slots were bought? Wena, uThanda iDrama, no wonder they are always telling you to take a bath, even if you took one a week."

@CokeorMeth questioned:

"Don't we all pay if we want our music or skills to be displayed, and hope that when it gains notoriety, you won't have to pay any more, and you'll charge."

@ManPitso wrote:

"I think there's nothing wrong with that. Companies pay heavy prices for their marketing on ad placement on digital platforms. So if he paid his dues on the way to the top to be the DJ he is now, I would do the same."

@phestahiver commented:

"If it’s for growing their brands, then why not? I just bought an ad space in an international engineering online magazine, and I will use that article to lure more clients locally and internationally. It’s time you invested in marketing, too, to grow your media."

@NyakiFrozenFire replied:

"Which is a great thing because they get exposure. It's a great marketing strategy, a great investment, and a learning curve since they will now know what the crowd prefers overseas. They might even score a gig next time if they played well."
