A video by Thabo's fake media company, 21st Century Group, showed that Thabo Bester was confident enough to show his face while in prison. South Africans got their first clear look at the full clip of the various celebrities in attendance, including Amanda du-Pont.

Thabo Bester hosted a party from behind bars, and a video showed how the evening went. The lavish affair at the Hilton in Sandton featured former SABC News anchor Thabile Ngwato, who briefly introduced the event in the video. Amanda du-Pont was also visible in the video's background, and it seemed she was conducting interviews at the event. A member of the National Assembly, Jimmy Manyi, was also spotted at the party. In one portion of the clip, everyone was singing Happy Birthday to Thabo, who was going by the name Tom Motsepe. Thabo looked comfortable laughing with the crowd after the MC said she hoped he wasn't crying after they sang him Happy Birthday. It was clear that the birthday party was a lavish event.

The full video of the birthday party made people question how Thabo Bester made his money. Online users shared their wild guesses about how he was able to organise the event. People were in disbelief that none of the guests ever realised that something was amiss. Netizens were impressed that he managed to pull off the birthday party from prison.
